vPakistan’s Current Account Surplus Hits $2.1 Billion in FY 2024-2025

Islamabad: Pakistan's Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Friday hailed the increase of the current account surplus to $2.1 billion in fiscal year 2024-2025. In a statement, he noted that the current account surplus had reached the highest level in the last 22 years, marking a significant development for the country's financial health.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Prime Minister attributed the improved surplus to government measures that have led to foreign exchange reserves exceeding $19 billion. He highlighted a significant increase in remittances and exports as primary contributors to the surplus, suggesting that these indicators reflect a path toward economic stability for Pakistan.

The Prime Minister emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing the business and investor-friendly environment in the country. He commended the efforts of the government's economic team, indicating that their actions were pivotal in achieving these financial milestones.
