1 Billion Followers Summit: J©r©my Boissonnet Reveals Widespread Distrust in Online Content

Dubai: J©r©my Boissinot, entrepreneur, founding partner, and CEO of AI marketing platform Favikon, revealed that 9 out of 10 people do not believe what they see online, according to a randomised survey conducted by the platform. Boissinot shared these insights during a session titled 'How to Find Creators In an AI Slop World' at the 1 Billion Followers Summit 2026.

According to Emirates News Agency, Boissinot emphasized the prevalence of fake news that mimics real content. He cited survey results indicating that only 38% of users could successfully distinguish between genuine and fake content. This revelation underscores the growing challenge posed by AI-generated content and the erosion of trust in digital media.

Boissinot highlighted a concerning trend where what was once considered conspiracy theories about social media has now become a reality. He referred to the discovery of a popular social media account with two million followers that was entirely AI-generated. This case exemplifies the deceptive potential of AI in creating seemingly authentic online personas.

Addressing the issue of AI's impact on content creation, Boissinot noted the efficiency of AI in producing videos within minutes, contrasting it with the time-consuming process of generating genuine content. He mentioned that users are becoming accustomed to accepting subpar content due to the convenience offered by AI technology.

Boissinot stressed that while almost everything can be fabricated on social media, the human element and community interactions remain authentic. To truly evaluate a content creator, users should assess their direction, track record, and credibility. His platform, Favikon, is actively working to combat fake content by developing apps that verify the authenticity of creators.
