22nd Emirates Critical Care Conference Kicks Off in Dubai with Global Participation

Dubai: The 22nd Emirates Critical Care Conference commenced today at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City, focusing on 'From Evidence to Excellence: The Future of Critical Care'. This event underscores the medical community's dedication to enhancing patient outcomes through global knowledge sharing and multidisciplinary partnerships. The conference is organized by Info Plus Events and will run until May 10th.

According to Emirates News Agency, the opening ceremony witnessed the presence of prominent figures such as Amin Al Amiri, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Health Regulation Sector at the Ministry of Health and Prevention, Younis Kazim, Acting CEO of the Health Regulation Sector at Dubai Health Authority, Sheikha Dr Noura Al Qassimi, President of the Emirates Medical Association, and other distinguished healthcare officials from the UAE.

The conference aligns with several significant events, including the 3rd World Summit of the World Federation of Intensive and Critical Care, the 17th Asian-African Conference of the World Federation of Intensive and Critical Care, and the 8th Conference of Emirates Nursing Association - Critical Care Chapter. It also coincides with the World Federation of Critical Care Nurses Annual Educational Meeting, the 7th Regional Neurocritical Care Society Middle East and North Africa Chapter, the 22nd International Pan Arab Critical Care Medicine Society Conference, and the ECCC Emergency Meeting.

Hussain Al Rahma, General Secretary of the World Federation of Intensive and Critical Care (WFICC) and other significant roles, informed WAM of the conference's vast participation, with over 35 scientific medical societies involved. The event has drawn more than 1,000 medical and nursing professionals from 49 countries, focusing on the latest developments in critical care and emergency medicine.

Al Rahma highlighted the involvement of 341 speakers, including 156 international, 58 regional, and 127 from the UAE. The scientific program boasts 375 lectures across 75 sessions, four workshops, five training courses, 88 research presentations, and three industry symposia. A pre-conference Brain Death Determination Workshop was also conducted on May 7th in Sharjah.

Key topics at the three-day event include discussions on sepsis, infections, fluid management, kidney diseases, mechanical ventilation, acute respiratory distress syndrome, surgery, trauma, anaesthesia, pain management, cardiovascular diseases, nutrition, geriatric care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and infection control. Policies and guidelines on multiple organ failure, cardiac resuscitation, and pre-hospital critical case management are also addressed.

A concurrent medical exhibition features over 24 international and local companies showcasing the latest critical care and emergency medicine technologies, including mechanical ventilators.
