4.6-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Erzurum in Eastern Turkiye

An earthquake measuring 4.6 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Erzurum in eastern Turkiye on Sunday.

The epicenter of the tremor was in Azizia district, at a depth of 7.04 km, according to the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).

A violent earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale struck southern Turkiye and northern Syria on Feb. 6, followed by another 7.6-magnitude quake and thousands of violent aftershocks, which resulted in tens of thousands of victims and caused massive damage and destruction to buildings and property in both countries.
