Hokkaido: An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 struck Hokkaido, Japan, on the afternoon of May 31. The country's Meteorological Agency reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 20 kilometers.
According to Emirates News Agency, the epicenter of the earthquake was located off the east coast of Hokkaido. Despite the significant magnitude, the agency confirmed that no tsunami warning was issued following the quake.
