Abdulla Al Hamed Leads UAE Delegation at Arab Information Ministers Meeting in Kuwait

Kuwait city: Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Authority (NMA), led the UAE delegation at the 22nd ordinary session of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Information Ministers in Kuwait. The session focused on projects aimed at enhancing joint Arab media efforts.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meetings included a review of the joint Arab media strategy, emphasizing the adoption of innovative media tools and artificial intelligence to boost the Arab presence in the global digital landscape. Discussions centered on activating joint Arab media efforts to tackle current challenges, promoting tolerance, and combating extremist ideologies through credible media content.

Al Hamed highlighted the transition required from traditional coordination to strategic integration in joint Arab media work. He stated that the objective is to create a unified Arab narrative that not only keeps pace with global events but also shapes them, reflecting the aspirations of Arab peoples and safeguarding future generations' awareness.

He reiterated the UAE's commitment to supporting joint Arab media action, in line with its leadership's directives. The UAE aims to leverage its capabilities to enable the Arab media system to adapt to global changes, preserving national identity and the historical achievements of Arab peoples.

Al Hamed commended Kuwait for hosting the 104th session of the Standing Committee for Arab Media and the 22nd ordinary session of the Executive Bureau. He acknowledged Kuwait's role in advancing joint Arab action and developing media discourse tools.

The meetings also focused on media support for the Palestinian cause, projects for joint Arab media work, and mechanisms of the Arab media action plan abroad. Discussions included combating terrorism, media and information literacy, addressing environmental issues, and climate fluctuations in the Arab world.

Additionally, the meetings addressed updating the executive program of the Arab media roadmap for sustainable development 2030, recommendations of the Arab Electronic Media Committee, and drafting a guiding law for digital media regulation.
