Abdullah Bin Zayed and Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Sign Visa Exemption Agreement in New York


New york: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Kamla Persad-Bissessar, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, in New York on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA80).



According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting included the presence of Sean Sobers, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago. A significant outcome of the meeting was the signing of an agreement between H.H. Sheikh Abdullah and Sobers on the mutual exemption of entry visa requirements between the two countries. This agreement facilitates UAE citizens holding diplomatic, special, ordinary, and ‘mission’ passports to enter Trinidad and Tobago without a visa, while holders of Trinidad and Tobago’s diplomatic and official passports can enter the UAE without a visa.



Additionally, Sheikh Abdullah and Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar explored ways to enhance friendly and bilateral relations, focusing on economic, trade, and investment cooperation. They also reviewed issues on the UN General Assembly agenda. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the UAE’s intent to strengthen ties with Trinidad and Tobago, aiming to boost economic cooperation and shared development, which would contribute to the prosperity of both nations.
