Abu Dhabi: Members of the Education, Human Development and Community Development Council, led by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, have praised the UAE's declaration of 2025 as the 'Year of Community'.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Council Chairman and members stated that this announcement bolsters social cohesion and comprehensive development in the UAE. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan extended his congratulations to the UAE's leadership, citizens, and residents, describing this initiative as a move to celebrate shared values within the UAE society.
"The 'Year of Community' aims to enhance community cohesion and fortify the bonds that connect us with family, colleagues, and the broader community within the UAE," said H.H. Sheikh Abdullah. He emphasized the importance of these bonds as a resource for building a harmonious and prosperous society.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah stressed the role of the Education, Human Development and Community Development Council in aligning with the leadership's vision, recognizing community development as a collective responsibility. He encouraged translating this initiative into tangible actions and community initiatives that promote societal welfare.
H.H. Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-Chairperson of the Council, remarked that the 'Year of Community' is an extension of a vision to fortify community bonds and humanitarian values. She highlighted the initiative as an opportunity to foster cooperation and shared responsibility among all members of society.
The announcement has been well-received by various ministers. Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Empowerment, views it as an extension of a national vision prioritizing individuals and society. Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri, Minister of Education, noted its importance in supporting society for sustainable development.
Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, stated that the declaration underscores the UAE's values of authenticity and tolerance, aiming to strengthen societal harmony. Sana bint Mohammed Suhail, Minister of Family, emphasized the family's role in building a cohesive society.
Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, described the declaration as an opportunity to reinforce the UAE's values and global standing. Hajar Al-Dhahli, Secretary-General of the Council, stated that the 'Year of Community' will focus on community development and empowerment.
Jassim Mohammed Buataba Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Department of Finance, Abu Dhabi, highlighted the declaration's emphasis on unity and cooperation to address challenges and appreciate contributions towards societal strength under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
