Abdullah Bin Zayed Discusses Regional Security After Iranian Missile Attacks


Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged in a series of phone calls with various foreign ministers to deliberate on recent regional developments and their impact on regional security and stability. These discussions come in the wake of Iranian missile attacks that targeted the UAE and several allied nations.



According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed spoke with notable figures, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar; Mihail Pop?oi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova; Dr. Constantinos Kombos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus; Mauro Vieira, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil; Petr Macinka, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic; Paulo Rangel, Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of Portugal; P©ter Szijj¡rt³, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary; Dr. Arnoldo Andr© Tinoco, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship of Costa Rica; and Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission.



The conversations focused on the repercussions of the ongoing escalation in the region, highlighting the risks it poses to both regional and international peace and security. The economic ramifications, particularly on the global economy and energy security, were also discussed.



H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and the foreign ministers jointly condemned the Iranian attacks, emphasizing the need for respecting international law. They affirmed the right of the affected nations to take necessary actions to protect their sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, as well as ensure the safety of their citizens and residents.



Acknowledging the support received, H.H. expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown by the ministers with the UAE. He reassured that all residents and visitors within the country remain safe.



The discussions also highlighted the essential role of international cooperation at this critical juncture. The ministers advocated for coordinated efforts to contain tensions, prevent further conflict, and prioritize diplomatic solutions and dialogue to enhance regional security and stability.
