Abdullah Bin Zayed Engages in Diplomatic Dialogues with Foreign Ministers at UN General Assembly

New york: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, conducted a series of meetings with foreign ministers from various countries during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Abdullah held discussions with Gerardo Werthein of Argentina, Justin Tkachenko of Papua New Guinea, Carlos Ramiro Mart­nez of Guatemala, Maka Botchorishvili of Georgia, Alexandra Hill Tinoco of El Salvador, and Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD). The conversations focused on critical issues on the United Nations General Assembly's agenda and explored cooperation within international organizations to support global sustainable development goals.

In addition to addressing these global issues, the meetings provided an opportunity to discuss advancing bilateral cooperation and expanding partnerships in fields such as economic, trade, investment, education, food security, health, culture, technology, renewable energy, and climate-related sectors. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the UAE's commitment to fostering constructive global cooperation and multilateral action to tackle shared challenges, consolidate peace and stability, and achieve sustainable development for all.

The discussions also considered current regional and international developments, particularly the situation in the Middle East, and its impact on international peace and security. Furthermore, Sheikh Abdullah met with Cindy McCain, Executive Director of the World Food Programme, to explore ways to enhance collaboration and coordination between the UAE and the programme, particularly in addressing the humanitarian challenges facing various regions around the globe.

The meetings were attended by prominent UAE officials, including Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, and Ambassador Mohamed Abushahab.
