Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with a delegation from the National Defence College, led by Major General Saeed Salmeen Al Alawi, Commandant of the National Defence College.
According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Abdullah congratulated the delegation on the 50th anniversary of the unification of the Armed Forces. He highlighted the crucial role of the college in bolstering the national defence framework by equipping national cadres with strategic expertise and enhancing their readiness to tackle essential challenges and protect the country's achievements.
During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah was informed about the academic and training programmes and the specialised curricula provided by the college. These programmes are designed to develop strategic analysis and planning skills and to build national capabilities that can address various future challenges and developments.
Sheikh Abdullah praised the efforts of the administrative and teaching staff and the commitment of the college's members to acquiring modern knowledge and future skills, thereby enhancing the efficiency of national cadres and supporting the country's comprehensive development journey.
Sheikh Abdullah also commended the college's initiatives and partnerships with several prominent institutions, which align with national objectives and the UAE's future aspirations. The members of the National Defence College delegation expressed their pleasure at meeting Sheikh Abdullah and affirmed that the UAE serves as a leading global model in empowering young people and preparing them for the future, further strengthening the nation's leadership and distinguished regional and international standing.
