Abu Dhabi and Emirates Arabian Horse Society to Showcase Heritage at Morocco’s Horse Show

El Jadida:Abu Dhabi The Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority and the Emirates Arabian Horse Society will participate in the 17th edition of the Salon du Cheval d'El Jadida in Morocco from October 13 to 18, 2026, at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Park in El Jadida. The event is themed 'The Horse in the Service of Humanity.'

According to Emirates News Agency, the event, organized by the Association du Salon du Cheval, will highlight the UAE's equestrian heritage. It aims to underscore the cultural importance of purebred Arabian horses and enhance cultural cooperation and knowledge exchange between the UAE and Morocco.

The Authority and the Society, in collaboration with public and private sector partners, will present a UAE pavilion. This pavilion will emphasize efforts to preserve purebred Arabian horse bloodlines and showcase traditional equestrian practices and Emirati craftsmanship.

The pavilion's design is inspired by Qasr Al Hosn, a monument that represents Abu Dhabi's historical journey. It incorporates authentic Emirati architectural elements, traditional motifs, and decorative details, reflecting the UAE's rich heritage by combining the past's character with the present's dynamism.

Visitors will experience Emirati traditions through displays of Al Sadu weaving, traditional attire, jewelry, bukhoor, perfumes, and visual arts. They will also have access to the UAE's Arabian Horse Studbook, publications, and visual presentations.

Additionally, the pavilion will feature a traditional Emirati majlis, emphasizing the country's values of hospitality and community. A Bedouin tent, known as Bayt Al Sha'r, will provide insights into traditional Emirati life, the local environment, and hospitality customs.

The cultural program will include folk performances, workshops on Arabic coffee preparation and serving traditions, a poetry competition inviting Moroccan poets to explore horses' significance in Arabic literature and culture, and a fine arts competition inspired by horsemanship and equestrian life.

The participation is intended to promote the UAE's enduring equestrian traditions, reinforce cooperation with Moroccan institutions, and introduce international audiences to Emirati heritage.

The El Jadida Horse Show gathers horse breeders, riders, specialists, and enthusiasts for competitions, exhibitions, and cultural and professional activities celebrating horses' role in heritage and society.
