Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) is actively participating in the 53rd New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) 2026, an event orchestrated by the National Book Trust India, set to take place from 10th to 18th January at the Bharat Mandapam convention centre in New Delhi. This renowned fair gathers over 1,000 publishers from India and across the globe, along with authors worldwide, offering a platform to exchange expertise, monitor developments in publishing and digital transformation, and explore opportunities for cultural cooperation.
According to Emirates News Agency, ALC's involvement is in line with its mission to support the Arabic language, bolster the UAE's presence on international stages, and enhance cultural ties between the UAE and India. This participation underscores the importance of culture in fostering dialogue and mutual understanding between the two nations.
At its pavilion, ALC is presenting 31 titles spanning various fields, emphasizing its commitment to promoting the Arabic language and supporting the publishing, translation, and creative industries. The New Delhi World Book Fair, established in 1972, offers an extensive program of events, including author pavilions, book launches, and dedicated spaces for children and youth. It also includes cultural, literary, artistic, and professional activities.
The fair features the New Delhi Rights Table (NDRT), which serves as a platform for publishers to exchange translation and distribution rights. Additionally, specialized sessions for translators and publishers from 50 countries are organized, further contributing to the global reach and impact of this significant literary event.
