Abu Dhabi Department of Energy and Analog Join Forces to Boost AI and ML in Energy Sector

Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) and Analog have announced a significant partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Physical Intelligence (PI) applications across the energy and water sectors.

According to Emirates News Agency, the agreement was formalized during a ceremony at ADIPEC 2025, with key figures such as Eng. Ahmed Alsayed Mohamed Al Sheebani, Acting Director-General of Regulatory Affairs at the DoE, and Alex Kipman, CEO and Founder of Analog, in attendance. This collaboration underscores a mutual commitment to leveraging PI and AI for digital transformation within the energy sector, contributing to the UAE's sustainability objectives and Net Zero 2050 strategy.

The MoU outlines a framework for advancing AI applications within the AD.WE platform, focusing on digital transformation and empowering teams with data-driven capabilities. This initiative aims to enhance operational efficiency and service quality throughout the energy sector by integrating PI frameworks that connect digital and physical environments using living world models, robotics, and the Analog Neural Agent (ANA).

Ahmed Al Sheebani emphasized the transformative impact of intelligent systems on the energy sector, highlighting the collaboration with Analog as a crucial step in accelerating digital capabilities and achieving sustainability goals in alignment with the UAE Energy Strategy. Alex Kipman described Physical Intelligence as the next evolution in energy, with systems that perceive, understand, and act in real time, turning infrastructure into adaptive, living systems.

The partnership will also focus on developing PI-driven operations, enhancing digital governance, and creating robust data strategies. Plans include establishing an AI and Physical Intelligence laboratory to develop tailored solutions for the energy and water sectors, fostering research partnerships, and community engagement.

This MoU signifies Abu Dhabi's strategic vision of integrating intelligent technologies to advance a digital innovation ecosystem, fostering sector-wide collaboration, and reinforcing the DoE's role in promoting sustainability and a smarter energy future for the UAE.
