Abu dhabi: The second edition of the Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit (ADIS 2026) commenced on Tuesday at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi. The summit gathers decision-makers, developers, investors, financiers, and innovators to deliberate on the future of sustainable urban development.
According to Emirates News Agency, the summit, which will run until 14th May 2026, underscores Abu Dhabi's emerging role as a global hub for shaping future cities and developing sustainable, efficient, and resilient urban models. This event takes place during a period of rapid global urban transformation, with forecasts indicating that urban populations could swell by approximately 2.5 billion people by the middle of the century.
Additionally, global infrastructure projects are anticipated to require investments of about US$106 trillion by 2040. This scenario emphasizes the necessity for advanced urban planning strategies to enhance sustainability, improve resource efficiency, and address future development challenges.
