Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club has announced its plans to organise the second round of the UAE Formula 4 Powerboat Championship, attracting both local and international competitors.
According to Emirates News Agency, the championship is scheduled to take place on the Abu Dhabi Corniche over the weekend, specifically on Saturday and Sunday. The event will be supervised by the UAE Marine Sports Federation and closely monitored by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. Participants from countries including the UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Sudan, Italy, and Norway are expected to compete.
The event will kick off with official practice and qualifying sessions on Saturday, featuring more than 10 boats. The main race and the subsequent award ceremony for the winners will occur on Sunday. The club has ensured that preparations are in full swing, meeting international standards by employing the latest tracking, safety, and officiating systems. This effort is intended to uphold Abu Dhabi's commendable reputation for hosting significant championships.
Thani Al Qemzi, Executive Director of Team Abu Dhabi and Modern Marine Sports, stated that the launch of the Formula 4 Championship further solidifies Abu Dhabi's standing as a global center for modern powerboat racing. It also underscores the UAE's leadership in the marine sports arena both regionally and internationally. He emphasized that the two-day format of the event provides competitors with ample opportunity to perform optimally while offering spectators the chance to enjoy world-class racing.
