Abu dhabi: Abu Dhabi City Municipality has launched an awareness campaign urging residents and businesses to dispose of waste in designated containers to help maintain public cleanliness and protect the urban environment.
According to Emirates News Agency, the campaign targets municipal community facilities, shop owners, and villa residents, highlighting the role of individuals in preserving the city’s appearance and supporting environmental sustainability. The initiative emphasizes the importance of responsible waste disposal in safeguarding the urban environment.
As part of the initiative, municipal teams conducted field visits to engage directly with visitors, commercial operators, and residents. These interactions provided guidance on proper waste disposal practices and discouraged behaviours that could harm the city’s visual appeal and public health. The municipality aims to instill a sense of responsibility among community members to contribute to the city’s cleanliness.
Field awareness visits allowed for direct engagement with facility visitors, commercial operators, and villa owners. The municipality provided guidance on correct disposal methods during these visits. In addition, awareness materials were disseminated through the municipality’s official social media platforms and the “Fareejna” application. This multi-channel approach aims to broaden community outreach and ensure that the message reaches a wide audience.
The campaign forms part of the municipality’s ongoing initiatives to promote environmental awareness and social responsibility. By encouraging proper waste disposal, the municipality seeks to enhance the quality of life across the emirate and ensure a cleaner, healthier environment for all residents.
