Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI), Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), and Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), in collaboration with key Abu Dhabi entities, are set to organize two major events in London aimed at highlighting investment opportunities within the Emirate's robust economy.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Abu Dhabi-London Business Connect event, scheduled for 8th October, and the Abu Dhabi Investment Forum (ADIF), taking place on 9th October, are designed to emphasize the Abu Dhabi business and investment community's dedication to expanding its international presence. The events will also build upon existing relationships with global economic leaders.
The forums are expected to attract senior representatives from both government and private sectors, including the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) Group, Abu Dhabi Customs, Mubadala, Aldar, HSBC, Hub71, and other stakeholders. More than 40 local private sector and family businesses from Abu Dhabi are participating to explore growth opportunities in new markets, including the UK, and to seek partnerships and joint ventures with international businesses.
The events will serve to highlight Abu Dhabi's investment environment and its increasing role as a global economic powerhouse and investment hub. Delegates will engage in meetings with leading UK institutions.
Badr Al-Olama, Director-General of ADIO, emphasized the importance of these events, stating, "ADIO's engagement in London underscores our commitment to strengthening investor partnerships and translating strategic alignment into concrete investment outcomes." He highlighted the focus on connecting global capital with emerging opportunities in Abu Dhabi's priority sectors, fostering growth and value creation.
Abu Dhabi's entrepreneurial ecosystem has seen significant growth, with a 300% increase in foreign investments over the past decade and a 196% rise in new economic licenses.
Shamis Ali Al Dhaheri, Second Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, noted that the Abu Dhabi-London Business Connect is focused on delivering tangible outcomes for companies looking to establish and expand in Abu Dhabi, as well as enabling UK firms to partner with counterparts in the Emirate.
The UK's business presence in Abu Dhabi has been expanding, with a 47% year-on-year growth in UK members of the Abu Dhabi Chamber in 2024. Additionally, over 40 UK institutions are based in ADGM, the region's largest and fastest-growing international financial center.
Abu Dhabi and the UK continue to enjoy strong investment flows, with Abu Dhabi institutions investing in key UK sectors such as education, infrastructure, technology, and life sciences, while British companies expand their presence in Abu Dhabi's innovation-driven economy, particularly in financial services, education, and professional services.
