Abu Dhabi Police Engages in Global Security Programme in Los Angeles

Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) General Headquarters participated in the Leadership in Mass Events programme held at the Los Angeles Police Academy in the United States.

According to Emirates News Agency, the programme saw participation from police and security agencies from various countries, including the US, the UAE, Canada, Brazil, Italy, Spain, and Australia. Brigadier General Mohammed Salem Al Mazyoud Al Shehhi, Head of the Events Security Management Centre, highlighted the importance of this involvement as part of ADP's ongoing efforts to enhance its systems for managing and securing major events. The programme was an opportunity for ADP to draw on international expertise and share best practices in planning, management, and security coordination.

He emphasized that the ADP remains focused on developing the skills of its personnel and boosting its preparedness in handling major events, aligning with the leadership's vision to maintain high levels of security and safety. Brigadier General Al Shehhi noted that the programme is a component of Los Angeles' preparations for hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympic Games, which demand significant readiness and coordination among security and service entities.

The programme included discussion sessions, training workshops, and field visits to crowd management sites and operations centres, aimed at reviewing the latest systems and technologies used in securing global events. Participants gained insights into global law enforcement leadership perspectives in managing mass events.
