Abu Dhabi to Host Historic 2025 IFMA Youth World Muay Thai Championship in September

Abu dhabi: For the first time in the Middle East, Abu Dhabi will host the 2025 IFMA Youth World Muay Thai Championship from September 10th to 20th, 2025, at Space 42 Arena in Al Raha Beach, marking a significant milestone in the UAE's history of hosting international sporting events.

According to Emirates News Agency, the official announcement came during a joint press event by the International Federation of Muay Thai Associations (IFMA) and the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, following the signing of the official hosting agreement at Space 42 Arena. The agreement was signed by Stephen Fox, Secretary-General of IFMA, and Tariq Mohammed Al Mehairi, Board Member of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation and Secretary-General of the Arab Muay Thai Federation.

Abdullah Saeed Al Neyadi, President of the Asian and Arab Muay Thai Federations and President of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, remarked that Abu Dhabi's hosting of the championship reflects the UAE's global prominence in organizing major international sports events. He credited the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan for advancing the UAE's sporting achievements.

Stephen Fox expressed his honor to be in Abu Dhabi to finalize the agreement for what is expected to be the largest Youth World Muay Thai Championship in history. He noted that the event is anticipated to attract over 100 national teams and 1,500 young athletes, highlighting the UAE's credibility and top-tier facilities.

Tariq Mohammed Al Mehairi emphasized the UAE Federation's commitment to hosting the championship as part of its development strategies. He acknowledged the international trust placed in the UAE and its esteemed reputation for organizing world-class events.
