Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Festival concluded today, marking a significant highlight of the seventeenth edition of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship. Kids from clubs and academies worldwide wrapped up the final day of the Festival competitions, showcasing promising performances that highlight a bright future for the sport.
According to Emirates News Agency, the closing day of the Festival saw the awarding of the top academies. Kazakhstan Team led the medal table, followed by Russia's Gymnasium Team in second place, and FAB Jiu-Jitsu Academy in third. The Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, with participation from over 10,000 athletes representing more than 130 countries.
Today's competitions were attended by numerous dignitaries, including Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser bin Zayed Al Nahyan and several prominent figures from the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation and other organizations. Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, emphasized the significance of youth participation, stating that the young athletes represent the future and embody the Federation's mission to empower the next generation through sport.
The vibrant atmosphere at Mubadala Arena was filled with families from various nationalities, demonstrating the unifying power of sport and its role in fostering family and community bonds. With the completion of the kids' competitions, the focus now shifts to the Abu Dhabi World Youth Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which begins tomorrow. Top talents from around the globe will continue to strive for success in an environment rich with passion and excitement.
