AD Ports Group and Egyptian Ministry Sign MoU for Logistics Infrastructure in Alexandria

Cairo: AD Ports Group, a leading entity in global trade and logistics, has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Egyptian Ministry of Industry and Transport. The agreement aims to explore joint development and operations of an integrated logistics park in Alexandria.

According to Emirates News Agency, the signing event took place in Cairo with prominent figures in attendance, including Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al Wazir, Egyptian Minister of Industry and Transport, Mariam Al Kaabi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt, and Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group. The MoU was signed by Ahmed Al Mutawa, Regional CEO of AD Ports Group, and Amr Ahmed Moustafa, Executive Managing Director of the Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transportation, an affiliate of the Egyptian Ministry of Transport.

The collaboration with HCMLT will focus on developing, managing, and operating a 1.1 square kilometer integrated logistics area at Alexandria Port, which is poised to become one of the largest logistics hubs on the Mediterranean Sea. Alexandria Port currently handles approximately 60% of Egypt's foreign trade, according to government figures.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi emphasized the long-term development goals of AD Ports Group, highlighting the strategic importance of the partnership with the Egyptian government. The initiative is expected to stimulate growth, create jobs, and enhance prosperity in Egypt. He noted that the collaboration could lead to further strategic infrastructure projects in the Mediterranean region, supporting Egypt's global trade flows and contributing to economic growth.
