ADDED Partners with Keeta to Boost Data-Driven Policies in Abu Dhabi’s Food Delivery Sector

Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has entered into a strategic partnership with Keeta, an international on-demand food delivery platform backed by the global technology leader Meituan. The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to facilitate data sharing, knowledge exchange, and technical cooperation to enhance the food delivery, transportation, and logistics sectors within the emirate.

According to Emirates News Agency, the signing of the MoU was witnessed by Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of ADDED, emphasizing the department's dedication to evidence-based policymaking, attracting investments, and supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This initiative is part of ADDED's broader strategy to foster economic growth and diversification by bolstering the private sector and SMEs' role in Abu Dhabi's economic development.

The agreement between ADDED and Keeta will enable the sharing of data and insights crucial for informed decision-making. This includes quantitative and qualitative data exchange related to business operations, market performance, and trends within the transportation and logistics sectors. These efforts align with ADDED's objective to monitor market challenges, consumer behavior, and other business activity factors to facilitate comprehensive assessments and policy support.

Mohammed Alshaiba Al Sharyani, Acting Director-General of Economic Affairs at ADDED, stated that the MoU signifies ADDED's commitment to fostering a sustainable economy through investments, services, and regulations that empower businesses. By utilizing high-quality data and insights, ADDED aims to enhance market understanding, support a conducive regulatory environment, and reinforce Abu Dhabi's status as a preferred destination for talent and investments.

The partnership will also focus on knowledge exchange and capacity building. ADDED and Keeta will organize workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance their teams' analytical skills. Lucas Xie, General Manager of Keeta UAE, expressed that the MoU is a testament to the shared commitment to creating an informed, resilient, and future-ready economic ecosystem in Abu Dhabi. Keeta aims to support evidence-based policymaking by sharing operational insights and sector learnings, in alignment with regulatory frameworks and governance priorities.
