ADIO and Schneider Electric Join Forces to Boost Sustainable Industrial Innovation in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has entered into a strategic partnership with Schneider Electric to further the emirate's industrial and sustainability objectives. This collaboration was announced at the 'Make it in the Emirates' forum 2025, with the aim of propelling Abu Dhabi's leadership in digitalisation, energy efficiency, and the development of Emirati talent in innovative, export-driven industries.

According to Emirates News Agency, Schneider Electric will bring its expertise in smart manufacturing and digitalisation to aid Abu Dhabi-based industrial entities in enhancing operational efficiency, reducing emissions, and strengthening integration with global supply chains. Furthermore, the partnership will focus on deploying energy management solutions to support the industrial sector's energy transition efforts.

This collaboration is in line with the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy (ADIS), which targets doubling the manufacturing sector's contribution to AED172 billion by 2031. With non-oil sectors now accounting for 54.7 percent of the emirate's GDP, industrial development is a key element of Abu Dhabi's diversification strategy.

ADIO and Schneider Electric will jointly develop programs to train and upskill Emirati talent in digital and industrial skills. They will co-fund training opportunities for Emirati graduates to equip the local workforce with the necessary competencies for next-generation manufacturing.

As part of the partnership, Schneider Electric and ADIO will assist local manufacturers in adopting smart factory solutions through Industrial Technology Transformation Index (ITTI) assessments and proof-of-concepts. These initiatives aim to enhance productivity, promote data-driven operations, and ensure long-term competitiveness within the industrial sector.

Mohammad Ali Al Kamali, Chief Trade and Industry Officer at ADIO, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating that it sets a new standard for industrial development that is sustainable, intelligent, and globally competitive. He highlighted the collaboration's role in embedding future capabilities at the core of Abu Dhabi's economy to ensure the industrial sector's ongoing success.

Amel Chadli, President of Gulf Countries at Schneider Electric, expressed that the partnership with ADIO is a strategic alignment of vision and capability. By working together, they aim to strengthen the case for advanced manufacturing in the UAE, supporting customers in their digital transformation journeys, improving efficiency, and fostering the talent necessary for sustainable long-term growth.
