Shanghai: ADNOC, accompanied by its portfolio companies Masdar, Borouge, and TA'ZIZ, participated in the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai. The event provided a platform for ADNOC to showcase its energy products and projects, engage with prospective customers and partners, and strengthen existing energy partnerships with Chinese companies.
According to Emirates News Agency, ADNOC signed three significant agreements at the expo. A Memorandum of Understanding was inked between ADNOC Global Trading (AGT) and CNOOC to explore a trading partnership. ADNOC also extended its crude supply collaboration with ZhenHua Oil and CNOOC.
ADNOC's presence at CIIE marks over four decades of energy collaboration between the UAE and China, following the recent opening of ADNOC's Beijing office. The company promoted its 'Make it with ADNOC' initiative at bilateral meetings and supplier workshops and participated in forums, including the UAE-China Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum.
His Excellency Omar Suwaina Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and Executive Office Director at ADNOC, led the delegation at CIIE. He emphasized the strategic importance of the participation, noting that it aimed to strengthen existing partnerships and explore new commercial opportunities within the Chinese energy market.
Borouge signed strategic agreements with three Chinese cable manufacturers to supply materials for renewable energy projects. It also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with waste management and recycling partners to develop infrastructure in Ningbo, a key industrial hub in Zhejiang province.
Masdar presented the world's largest solar and battery energy storage system, capable of delivering 1 gigawatt of renewable power. At the same time, TA'ZIZ awarded a US$1.99 billion contract to a Chinese firm to construct the UAE's first PVC production complex.
CIIE also witnessed the announcement of the inaugural Blue Forum, to be held at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026, focusing on global partnerships and investments in sustainable water management. The forum is supported by Masdar and aims to drive innovation, finance, and policy cooperation in the sector.
