Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, today witnessed the signing of a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on the closing day of the Arab Media Summit 2026.
According to Emirates News Agency, the MoUs brought together the Dubai Media Council, the Government of Dubai Media Office, and the Dubai Press Club with several leading government entities, national, and academic institutions. The goal is to build media capabilities and develop young talent in media and content creation, reinforcing Dubai's position as a leading regional and global center for media, content creation, and innovation.
The agreements were signed by Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, with prominent figures such as Zaki Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to the UAE President and Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University; Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita, Director-General of Dubai Municipality; Dr. Ahmad bin Meshar, Secretary-General of the Supreme Legislation Committee in Dubai; among others.
Mona Ghanem Al Marri emphasized the importance of strong partnerships that create opportunities to share knowledge and expertise, build capabilities, and develop more integrated ways of working. She stressed the commitment of the Dubai Press Club to expanding partnerships with national institutions, universities, and centers of knowledge to create shared value and anticipate change.
Zaki Nusseibeh highlighted the partnership between the Dubai Press Club and United Arab Emirates University as a means to strengthen links between academic and media institutions, offering opportunities for students to gain practical experience and enhance their professional readiness for careers in media.
Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita of Dubai Municipality expressed commitment to supporting the 'Dubai Content Creators Programme' through the development of content creators specializing in safety, aiming to produce innovative content that addresses public and occupational safety.
Dr. Ahmad bin Meshar noted the collaboration between the Dubai Media Council and the Supreme Legislation Committee in Dubai as a significant step in integrating legislative and media functions, advancing legal research, and ensuring the accuracy of media content related to legislation.
Other notable partnerships include those between the Dubai Press Club and Dubai Courts, Dubai Customs, ENOC, the University of Dubai, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, and the Government of Dubai Media Office with the Higher Colleges of Technology. Each partnership is tailored to develop specific media content areas, enhance academic and professional integration, and prepare students for the evolving media landscape.
These MoUs are part of the broader efforts by the Dubai Media Council, the Government of Dubai Media Office, and the Dubai Press Club to foster a stronger culture of collaboration, knowledge exchange, and talent development in the media sector.
