Ajman: Over 14.2 million public transport trips were recorded in Ajman during 2025, reflecting a growth rate of 7.23 percent compared to 2024. Ajman Transport Authority announced these figures, highlighting the effectiveness of its development plans aimed at enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of the Emirate's public transport system.
According to Emirates News Agency, the growth in transport trips is attributed to a series of operational and expansion initiatives. These include improvements in trip distribution and enhancements in the operational network's efficiency, aligning with the population growth and increasing demand for public transport services. Such efforts facilitate mobility for all societal segments.
Omar Mohammed Lootah, General Manager of Ajman Transport Authority, emphasized that the achievements in 2025 validate the Authority's strategic direction in developing an integrated transport system. This system is designed to meet community needs and support the objectives of sustainable urban development in the Emirate.
Lootah highlighted a notable increase in public bus trips, which totaled 213,204, marking a growth rate of 67.42 percent compared to the previous year. This increase underscores the growing reliance on buses as a safe and reliable transport mode, supported by high standards of safety, comfort, and service quality.
In the area of marine transport services, the number of trips reached 5,887 during 2025, as part of the Authority's continuous efforts to sustain and develop this mode of transport in line with user needs.
Additionally, taxi services saw significant growth, with 14,006,076 trips completed in 2025, marking an increase of 6.6 percent from 2024. This growth highlights the efficiency of operations and the improved quality of services within this vital sector.
