Dubai: Al Ansari Holding, the parent company of Al Ansari Financial Services and Al Ansari Exchange, has announced a significant contribution of AED10 million in support of the Edge of Life campaign. This initiative aims to rescue five million children worldwide from the threat of hunger.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Edge of Life campaign was launched during Ramadan by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The campaign seeks to raise at least AED1 billion to fund sustainable programs designed to combat childhood hunger globally. It operates under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and focuses on creating a community movement to support its goals.
The campaign particularly targets children in the world's most vulnerable communities, including those affected by natural disasters and conflicts. Currently, statistics indicate that every minute, five children under the age of 5 succumb to malnutrition and hunger globally.
The Edge of Life campaign is organized in collaboration with UNICEF, Save the Children, the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), and Action Against Hunger. Mohammad Ali Al Ansari, Chairman of Al Ansari Holding, expressed pride in participating in the campaign, highlighting the UAE's humanitarian role and commitment to international efforts to combat hunger and achieve sustainable development goals.
He also noted that the contribution coincides with Al Ansari Exchange's 60th anniversary and underscores their commitment to social responsibility and supporting MBRGI's programs. Al Ansari emphasized that childhood hunger is not just a nutritional issue but a humanitarian crisis affecting children's rights to life, growth, education, and stability.
The Edge of Life campaign continues to seek donations from institutions and individuals through various channels, including its website, a dedicated call center, bank transfers, SMS, and platforms like the DubaiNow app, YallaGive.com, and Dubai's community platform Jood.
