Al Rayyan defeated Al Wasl of the United Arab Emirates (3-0) in a friendly on Sunday in the Netherlands as part of their preparations for the 2024-25 season. By beating the UAE team, Al Rayyan finished their five friendly matches planned in their training camp. They won against FC Eindhoven (1-0), while they lost to FC Utrecht (1-4), Al Qadisiyah (0-2), and VVV-Venlo (1-3). During the current summer transfers, Al Rayyan signed Swedish coach Poya Asbaghi from Al Shamal, replacing Portuguese Leonardo Jardim whose contract ended mutually after one season with the team.
