Arusha:Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, who leads the Federal National Council's Parliamentary Division at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), chaired a critical meeting of the IPU Task Force focused on peacefully resolving the Ukraine conflict during the IPU's 153rd Assembly in Arusha, Tanzania.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting evaluated the current state of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and reviewed the task force's action plan aimed at fostering dialogue for a peaceful resolution.
Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized that the creation of the task force symbolizes the IPU's dedication to advancing peace and dialogue, highlighting the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in resolving conflicts.
Additionally, the task force conducted separate discussions with parliamentary delegations from Ukraine and the Russian Federation. These discussions aimed to understand their perspectives, assess recent developments, and explore potential pathways to peace through continued parliamentary dialogue.
