Ali Al Nuaimi Meets With EU Deputy Secretary-General To Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Abu Dhabi: Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Committee on Defence, Interior, and Foreign Affairs in the Federal National Council (FNC), today welcomed a delegation from the European Union led by Olof Skoog, Deputy Secretary-General of the European External Action Service (EEAS), alongside officials from the EU mission to the UAE.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting was also attended by FNC member Meera Sultan Al Suwaidi. Both sides explored avenues to bolster bilateral relations between the UAE and the European Union, emphasizing the recent positive momentum and advancements in cooperation across multiple fields.

The discussions highlighted the importance of deepening strategic dialogue and expanding collaboration frameworks that serve mutual interests. Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized the UAE's achievements, particularly in empowering women and youth and promoting a culture of tolerance and coexistence, which have positioned the nation as a model for building diverse and stable communities globally.

Furthermore, Dr. Al Nuaimi reaffirmed the UAE's dedication to regional security and stability, underscoring its humanitarian and development initiatives amid ongoing challenges in the Middle East. The conversation also addressed the situation in the Palestinian territories, with both parties underscoring the need for a political horizon based on a two-state solution to alleviate civilian suffering in Gaza and ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid.

In addition, Dr. Al Nuaimi reiterated the UAE's unwavering commitment to supporting just causes and alleviating humanitarian crises. Skoog echoed the EU's eagerness to broaden areas of cooperation with the UAE, highlighting the alignment of views on numerous regional and international issues, particularly those concerning security, stability, and global peace-building.
