AJMAN: H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Ajman Executive Council, chaired the Council's meeting at the Government Agencies Complex at the Emiri Diwan. During this session, the Council approved the "Our Balanced Summer" initiative, a program aimed at enhancing employee well-being and quality of life during the summer months, aligning with the Year of Community.
According to Emirates News Agency, the initiative will implement a 100% remote work system every Friday from July 1 to August 22, 2025, and reduce working hours from Monday to Thursday, operating from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm. These measures are intended to promote work-life balance while maintaining the delivery of essential government services through flexible structures in government entities.
The initiative seeks to improve institutional efficiency, adapt to the summer climate, and ensure high-quality public service delivery through optimized organizational workflows. H.H. Sheikh Ammar emphasized that under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, the Ajman Government values a dynamic work environment that supports both professional and personal needs of employees.
He further stated that employee and family stability are key to Ajman's development, highlighting human well-being as vital for institutional excellence and government performance improvement. Additionally, the "Our Balanced Summer" initiative aims to contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing transportation emissions, supporting Ajman Vision 2030's goals of building a balanced, resilient, and sustainable society.
The Human Resources Department, with the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, will manage the initiative's implementation, develop operational models, and present an assessment report by September 2025 to evaluate its impact on performance and satisfaction levels.
The Council also reviewed the outcomes of the recent official visit to Chongqing Municipality in China, led by H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi. It recommended continued engagement with Chinese counterparts through quarterly coordination meetings in 2025 and encouraged academic exchanges.
Further recommendations included attracting Chinese investments in sectors like technology, artificial intelligence, light manufacturing, and clean technologies. It also proposed extending an invitation to a Chinese delegation to explore Ajman's urban planning and investment opportunities, aligned with Ajman Vision 2030.
The Executive Council approved the "Ajman Learns" project, part of Ajman Vision 2030, aimed at fostering lifelong learning. The project targets establishing governance and evaluation frameworks to position Ajman as a hub of knowledge and sustainable growth.
H.H. Sheikh Ammar highlighted the importance of lifelong learning for the emirate's vision, supporting directives to prioritize human capital development and building an educational system that supports social and economic advancement.
The Council directed the development of a new accreditation program for technical and vocational training centers to ensure outcome quality matching labor market needs. It emphasized maximizing Ajman's role in the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities for educational excellence.
The 'Lifelong Learning in Ajman' report was reviewed, offering a data-driven analysis of the emirate's educational landscape. Ajman hosts over 96,000 students, bolstered by a comprehensive educational ecosystem and inclusive community engagement efforts.
Ajman's accession to the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities in 2024 was noted as a positive impact, enhancing the emirate's global educational standing.
