Ammar bin Humaid Honours Winners of UAE AI Award’s Second Edition

Abu dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, attended the UAE AI Award's second edition ceremony, held as part of the UAE Government Annual Meetings. H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of Ajman Executive Council, honoured the winners at the event.

According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Ammar emphasized the role of artificial intelligence as a key enabler for vital sectors and future industries. He highlighted the UAE leadership's vision to position the nation at the forefront of technological transformation, investing in human capital and building team capabilities to drive excellence and leadership. He noted that rapid AI advancements underscore the importance of investment in this field for future shaping, with the UAE adapting proactively through effective strategies aimed at leading the Arab world toward an advanced knowledge economy.

The award ceremony saw the presence of notable figures, including H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah; H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah; among others. The UAE AI Award, launched by the UAE Council for Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain, aims to inspire federal, local, and semi-government entities to embrace AI applications, establishing a national benchmark for AI utilization.

Abu Dhabi's Department of Government Enablement received the 'Excellence in AI-powered Services' award for its TAMM - Abu Dhabi Government Services. The AI-powered digital assistant integrates over 40 government and private entities, providing access to essential services, enhancing operational efficiency, and saving significant working hours annually.

The Federal Authority For Government Human Resources was awarded for the HR AI Agent under 'AI Solutions Developed in the UAE'. This system automates government HR services, enabling employees to complete legal inquiries and transactions through AI-powered models, improving customer satisfaction and reducing support workload.

Emirates Health Services and Unison Capital Investment won the 'Best Government-Private Partnership in AI' for their collaboration on AI-powered diagnostic imaging. Their healthcare system has adopted AI solutions for diagnosing various conditions, significantly improving clinical results' speed and accuracy.

Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) and GenBio AI were recognized for 'AI Scientific Research' for their work on protein-language modelling, advancing bioinformatics and pharmaceutical development.

Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber was named 'AI Leader', recognized for his leadership in advancing AI technologies within the UAE. His efforts have unified Abu Dhabi's AI ecosystem and promoted AI adoption across sectors, contributing significantly to the UAE's AI landscape.

The UAE AI Award received over 540 entries from more than 170 entities, with 13 projects advancing to the finals this year. This reflects the strong participation and the award's role in shaping the digital future and enhancing the UAE's competitive edge.
