Cairo: The Arab League's General Secretariat announced on Saturday that it will hold an emergency meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives on Sunday. This meeting is in response to Israel's recent recognition of the entity referred to as "Somaliland."
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting, requested by Somalia, aims to reaffirm the Arab League's categorical rejection of any unilateral actions or decisions that might compromise Somalia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Cairo-based League emphasized in its statement that this gathering seeks to uphold international humanitarian law and adhere to the decisions set forth by both the Arab League and the African Union.
Additionally, the meeting intends to express full solidarity with Somalia, supporting its legitimate institutions in a manner that contributes to maintaining security and stability in the region.
