Arab League held a coordinative meeting on Wednesday at the level of permanent representatives of the Arab member states at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo in preparation for the 3rd session of the ministerial meeting of the Japanese-Arab Political Dialogue due to be convened on Sept. 5 on the sidelines of the 160th session of the League Council at the ministerial level.
In a statement, the Arab League said the meeting briefed the permanent representatives on the ongoing preparations to hold the 3rd session of the ministerial meeting of the Japanese-Arab Political Dialogue to have positive outcomes that serve shared interests and achieve the aspirations of the leaders and people of Arab states and Japan.
The Japanese-Arab Political Dialogue at the ministerial level was established under a cooperation memorandum signed between the minister of foreign affairs of Japan and the Secretary-General of the Arab League in 2013. The first session of this dialogue was held in 2017 at the headquarters of the Arab League, whilst the second session was held in 2021 via videoconferencing.
