Arab Parliament Speaker Adel Al-Asoumi condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran in Danish Capital, Copenhagen, by radical extremists and called these acts irresponsible, provocative, hateful and a threat to peaceful tolerance.
Al-Asoumi, in a statement issued on Sunday, asserted that such acts cannot be justified but call for a firm international stance to prevent recurrence, and urged Arab and Muslim nations to boycott Denmark.
He also underlined the necessity of putting forth laws that criminalize offense to religious sanctities, renouncing violence and extremism, and pressed on Arab and Muslim states to adopt stricter measures against these acts.
This comes in response to news reports of radicals burning the Holy Scripture in front of the Iraqi Embassy in Copenhagen, yesterday.
