Sharjah: Arada has awarded a significant AED183 million main construction contract for the development of a new K-12 educational institution, Reigate Grammar School Masaar, within its AED9.5 billion forested megaproject in Sharjah. This new project is a collaboration between Arada and the UAE-based education provider Bright Capital Investment.
According to Emirates News Agency, Reigate Grammar School Masaar represents the first branch campus of a UK school to be established in Sharjah. The construction contract has been secured by Al Rehab Al Arabi Building Contracting Co. LLC, with the building process already underway. The construction is projected to span 16 months, aiming for completion and readiness to welcome students by September 2027.
The school will be built on a 450,000-square-foot plot in Masaar's northern corner, strategically positioned near Masaar 2 and Masaar 3. It will accommodate up to 2,700 students and will feature premium facilities such as a performing arts centre, a library, a STEM Centre, multi-purpose halls, sports amenities, and swimming pools.
This project marks the inaugural UAE expansion of Reigate Grammar School, an institution with a rich history dating back to 1675 near London and recognized as the Independent School of the Year 2025 by The Sunday Times newspaper. Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, emphasized the significance of this contract award, reflecting Arada's commitment to investing in world-class amenities for Sharjah's families.
Esref Temel, Managing Director at Bright Capital Investment, expressed excitement over this milestone in the development of Reigate Grammar School Masaar, anticipating the establishment of Sharjah's first branch campus of a British school. Sean Davey, Global Business Director for Reigate Grammar School International, highlighted the importance of this project in the school's global expansion, following successful establishments in countries such as Saudi Arabia, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Trkiye.
Launched in 2021, Masaar is a sprawling 19 million-square-foot residential development, comprising approximately 3,000 homes nestled in a forested environment. It is situated in the Suyoh district near notable landmarks like Tilal City, the Sharjah Mosque, and Arada's Nasma Residences, with convenient access to major roads such as Emirates Road and Maliha Road. The construction of all six residential phases is expected to conclude this year.
