BASSIL MEETS WITH ARAB LEAGUE ASSISTANT SECRETARY-GENERAL OVER LOCAL, REGIONAL DEVELOPMENTS

Free Patriotic Movement leader, MP Gebran Bassil, on Wednesday welcomed Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, at the start of Zaki's tour of Lebanese parties and leaders. The visit aimed to assess the situation in light of the ongoing conflict in Gaza and southern Lebanon. Discussions between the pair also covered Lebanon's internal situation and dialogue initiatives to facilitate presidential elections, highlighting the Arab League's role in supporting this goal, according to a statement by the Free Patriotic Movement.
