Beijing: The Chinese capital, Beijing, recorded 8.21 million tourist visits during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, up 5.4 percent year-on-year, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism said on Monday.
According to Emirates News Agency, the three-day holiday, which ran from 31st May to 2nd June, saw 10.77 billion yuan (about US$1.49 billion) in tourism revenue in Beijing, marking an increase of 6.7 percent from the same period last year.
This year's Dragon Boat Festival on 31st May coincided with Children's Day on 1st June, leading to a surge in demand for family-friendly outings and educational tours.
