Deputy House Speaker, Elias Bou Saab, on Thursday welcomed Egypt’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Alaa Moussa, in his office at the House of Parliament.
Discussions between the pair reportedly encompassed the general domestic landscape.
The conversation also delved into the presidential vacancy and the facilitative role of the Quint Committee in reactivating the process of electing a president for the republic.
Furthermore, recent developments resulting from the war on Gaza and Israeli aggressions against Lebanon were addressed. Bou Saab emphasized that ‘discussions regarding Resolution 1701 are premature pending the cessation of hostilities and the subsequent transition to a new phase following the ceasefire in Lebanon, including the border demarcation dossier.’
