Brazil launches guidelines to boost country’s creative economy

The Ministry of Culture of Brazil launched a set of guidelines that will serve as a reference for implementing the National Creative Economy Policy in an event in Rio de Janeiro, Agência Brasil reported. The move aims to help consolidate the creative economy as a strategy for the country's social, economic, and cultural development. The Brazilian Minister of Culture Margareth Menezes stressed the importance of having an effective agenda to guide programmes, projects and concrete actions focused on creativity and culture. In total, 15 guidelines direct the Creative Economy policy, which includes dissemination of studies, training of managers and entrepreneurs, expansion of investment, and promotion of diversity and productive inclusion. "With these guidelines, you help the sector to qualify; you directly promote the producer and all the creative industry activities, such as audiovisual, copyright, and Brazilian handicrafts. All of this is a workforce that drives the national GDP. Therefore, we need to cre ate concepts to help develop and strengthen this industry," said the Minister. Source : Emirates News Agency
