Calidus and GA-ASI Sign MoU for Co-Production of MQ-9B and Gambit Aircraft

Calidus: Calidus Holding Group and General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the prospective co-production of MQ-9B remotely piloted aircraft and Gambit Collaborative Combat Aircraft in the UAE, including command and control and battle management systems.

According to Emirates News Agency, the agreement was signed by Dr. Khalifa Murad Alblooshi, Managing Director and CEO of Calidus Holding Group, and David R. Alexander, GA-ASI President, during the UMEX and SimTEX 2026 events. This MoU outlines a framework for cooperation between Calidus, GA-ASI, and GA-Intelligence, focusing on airframe manufacturing, final assembly, test and checkout, and flight operational test and acceptance.

Dr. Khalifa Murad Alblooshi stated that the MoU with General Atomics marks a strategic step to enhance Calidus's capabilities in the unmanned systems sector, aligning with user requirements. This collaboration leverages the expertise and manufacturing capabilities of both parties, paving the way for future partnerships in innovation, knowledge transfer, and expanded manufacturing.

David R. Alexander emphasized the importance of partnering with experts within the UAE, highlighting the shared commitment to long-term cooperation, technological innovation, and advancing their aircraft in the region. This initiative marks the first time General Atomics' aircraft will be manufactured in the region, meeting the growing demand for the MQ-9B and Gambit Collaborative Combat Aircraft locally and globally.
