Abu dhabi: Calidus Holding Group and Czech-based LPP Holding have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for cooperation in the unmanned aerial systems (UAS) sector. The agreement, signed by Dr. Khalifa Murad Alblooshi, CEO of Calidus, and Jir Sauer, CEO of LPP Holding, took place during the UMEX and SimTEX 2026 event.
According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU aims to bolster industrial integration and accelerate technology localisation, focusing on the development and production of fully autonomous unmanned platforms in the UAE. The collaboration will involve various initiatives, including localisation, joint assembly, production, and a transition towards full manufacturing of unmanned systems. It also includes technology transfer, knowledge development, and joint research and development programs to enhance next-generation UAS capabilities.
Dr. Khalifa Murad Alblooshi noted that the agreement represents a pivotal step for Calidus in advancing its leadership in unmanned systems development and production. By combining LPP Holding's technologies with Calidus's manufacturing capabilities, the partnership aims to foster innovation, strengthen industrial capacity, and expedite the localisation of autonomous systems designed to meet global standards.
Martina Tauberov¡, Director of External Relations at LPP Holding, emphasized the collaboration as a fusion of Czech technological expertise with the UAE's industrial capabilities and strategic vision. The partnership seeks to create a new generation of autonomous unmanned platforms and enhance Czech-Emirati cooperation in defence technologies.
The joint venture plans to establish a regional hub for LPP Holding's systems, expanding production capacities and distribution channels. Calidus will leverage its manufacturing capabilities and industrial ecosystem in the UAE to facilitate this expansion.
Concluding its participation in the seventh edition of UMEX and SimTEX, Calidus showcased its latest defense products within the UAE National Pavilion. This unveiling highlights the strength of the UAE's national defense industry, underscoring its commitment to innovation and advanced technology integration, aligned with the nation's vision to expand its defense-industrial ecosystem regionally and globally.
