Asheville: The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) is actively participating in the Fourth G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting and the Second G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting, currently being held in Asheville, North Carolina, United States. These meetings are scheduled to take place from 29th August to 1st September 2026, under the leadership of the United States' G20 Presidency for the year 2026.
According to Emirates News Agency, the CBUAE delegation is being led by Ebrahim Obaid Al Zaabi, Assistant Governor for Monetary Policy and Financial Stability. The delegation also includes Mohamed Hussain Al Marzooqi, Head of International Relations, and Maryam Abdulla Alzaabi, Manager of Multilateral Affairs. The agenda for the meetings encompasses various priority topics, such as current global economic developments, monetary policy, economic growth, financial literacy, and efforts to combat fraud and scams.
The participation of the CBUAE in these meetings highlights its commitment to reinforcing international monetary and financial cooperation. The bank aims to exchange expertise and best practices, and contribute significantly to international dialogue on essential issues and developments within the global financial landscape.
