Abu dhabi: Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE), received Judha Nugraha, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the UAE, at the CBUAE headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The meeting was attended by the Assistant Governors and senior officials from both sides.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting focused on strengthening financial and banking relations between the UAE and Indonesia, with both parties exploring areas of mutual interest to drive economic growth and enhance the strategic partnership. The discussions included the interconnection of payment systems to facilitate seamless cross-border payments through advanced, efficient, and cost-effective solutions, aligning with the development goals of both nations.
Furthermore, the dialogue extended to accelerating digital financial innovation to support the burgeoning trade and investment flows between the two countries. Khaled Balama highlighted the UAE's commitment to mutual cooperation in the financial and banking sectors, aiming to develop secure digital payment solutions that bolster economic resilience and support bilateral trade and joint investments.
Judha Nugraha commended the UAE's advancements in digital payments infrastructure. He noted that the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and the UAE presents an opportunity to deepen cooperation between their central banks. Nugraha expressed optimism that initiatives like Local Currency Transactions (LCT) and enhanced cross-border payment connectivity would further strengthen trade, investment, and the strategic partnership between the two nations.
