China’s digital publishing industry reaches US$228.89 billion in 2023

The scale of China's digital publishing industry reached 1.618 trillion yuan (about US$228.89 billion) in 2023, up 19.08 percent year-on-year, according to an annual report issued by the Chinese Academy of Press and Publication (CAPP). According to Xinhua News Agency, the number of Chinese online literature readers reached a record high of 537 million by the end of 2023.
