Abu dhabi: China's expressway mileage has expanded to 199,000 km during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), Vice Minister of Transport Xu Chengguang said at a media conference Tuesday. Xu emphasized the significant growth in the country's transportation infrastructure as part of ongoing development efforts.
According to Emirates News Agency, Xu highlighted that China's operating high-speed railway network has exceeded 50,000 km. This expansion is part of a broader strategy to enhance connectivity across the nation. In addition to road and rail developments, the total number of transport airports has reached 270, further reinforcing China's position as a leader in transportation infrastructure.
China has also established the world's largest postal network in terms of scale and the number of beneficiaries. This achievement underscores the country's commitment to improving logistical efficiency and accessibility nationwide.
