CONDOR and Hungary’s 4iG S and D Sign MoU to Establish Regional Hub for Non-Lethal Solutions

Abu dhabi: CONDOR, a Brazilian leader in non-lethal technologies and part of the UAE's EDGE Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 4iG Space and Defence Technologies (S and D), a major telecommunications, IT, and defence-industrial group in Hungary and the Western Balkans, to explore the establishment of a regional hub in Hungary for advanced non-lethal solutions.

According to Emirates News Agency, under the MoU, 4iG S and D and CONDOR will explore opportunities to produce non-lethal solutions in Hungary, including possible technology transfers, manufacturing, training and capacity building, and joint research initiatives. Frederico Aguiar, CEO of CONDOR, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership, stating that it is a crucial step in advancing Hungary's defence industry and supporting the European security ecosystem. This collaboration aims to deliver localized non-lethal solutions that enhance the capabilities of Central European law enforcement and regional security forces.

The long-term partnership between 4iG SDT and EDGE seeks to create joint developments that are competitive internationally and meet the technological and security policy requirements of NATO member states. Istv¡n S¡rhegyi, CEO of 4iG SDT, remarked that the cooperation agreement with CONDOR lays the foundation for a regional centre in limited-impact defence solutions through joint developments, knowledge transfer, and industrial synergies. This agreement also marks the beginning of cross-continental cooperation.

The MoU for advanced non-lethal solutions is part of EDGE's ongoing partnership with 4iG S and D. Earlier this year, EDGE and 4iG S and D signed three MoUs to establish industrial cooperation between the UAE and Hungary, exploring joint development and production of EDGE's air defence missile systems and other defence solutions. These agreements underscore EDGE's commitment to strengthening ties with European defence ecosystems and delivering export-ready solutions that align with the modernisation needs of NATO countries.
