Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Represents UAE at G20 Summit in South Africa

Johannesburg: On behalf of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, participated in the G20 summit held in Johannesburg, South Africa. The summit brought together leaders and heads of state from G20 member countries.

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Khaled delivered the UAE's statement during the summit's opening session, addressing themes such as Building Economies, the Role of Trade, Financing for Development, and the Debt Burden. He conveyed President Sheikh Mohamed's greetings and best wishes for the summit's success to the participating leaders.

H.H. Sheikh Khaled expressed gratitude to Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa, for inviting the UAE to the summit. He emphasized the meeting's role in promoting global partnership and enhancing market interconnectedness and economic integration.

Sheikh Khaled highlighted the UAE's commitment to advancing global economic cooperation and supporting a balanced international trading system that encourages the participation of developing countries. He stressed the importance of better financing solutions and investment in fields like advanced technology, energy, health, and agriculture, focusing on capability building and creating economic opportunities.

During his address, Sheikh Khaled announced the UAE's AI for Development initiative, allocating $1 billion to finance AI projects in African nations. This initiative aims to support economic and social development through digital infrastructure enhancement, improved government services, and increased productivity.

In his closing remarks, H.H. Sheikh Khaled reiterated the UAE's commitment to collaborating with G20 partners to foster global development and prosperity. The UAE delegation included several key ministers and officials, marking the nation's sixth participation in the G20 summit, following previous involvements in Brazil, India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and France.
