Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Visits UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka

Osaka: H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, has visited the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed toured the pavilion's exhibition, which features an architectural design of 90 soaring palm rachis columns reaching up to 16 meters high. Inspired by the UAE's date palm, the columns were crafted from more than 2 million palm fronds, showcasing the reuse of natural materials. The UAE Pavilion, themed Earth to Ether, offers an immersive journey through the UAE's values, cultural heritage, and innovations, including space exploration, healthcare advancements, and nature-based technologies.

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed met with the pavilion's team and commended national talent for building cultural exchange bridges with nations worldwide. The pavilion serves as a window to the world, highlighting the UAE's achievements while reflecting the nation's pride in its heritage and cultural identity as it continues to pursue an ambitious future.

H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed emphasized the symbolic and strategic importance of returning to Osaka for the expo, 55 years after the UAE's first participation in Expo 1970. This participation stands as a testament to over five decades of cooperation and partnership between the UAE and Japan across fields of mutual interest.

The UAE Pavilion is part of the Empowering Lives zone on Yumeshima, an artificial island hosting Expo 2025 Osaka. Running from 13th April to 13th October 2025 under the theme 'Designing Future Society for Our Lives,' the expo will welcome 158 countries alongside international organisations and leading Japanese companies from strategic sectors.

Since its opening in April, the UAE Pavilion has presented a programme of cultural events, including panel discussions, performances, workshops, culinary demonstrations, and exhibitions showcasing Emirati artists. These offerings blend heritage and innovation, fostering cultural exchange and advancing dialogue for a prosperous future.

Visitors to the UAE Pavilion are welcomed by 46 youth ambassadors, including 24 Emiratis, who guide guests on a journey into the nation's heritage, traditions, and achievements spanning over 50 years.

H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed was accompanied by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Reem Al Hashimy, Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa, Saif Saeed Ghobash, Maryam Eid AlMheiri, and Shihab Ahmed Al Faheem during the visit.
